We have taken all precautions in the construction to prevent damage to this item due to shrinkage or expansion. However, wood can expand or shrink as a result of changes in temperature and humidity. Control of the humidity and temperature of the environment will minimize this effect. The gray color of this item is achieved by a natural process similar to the natural aging of wood under the influence of weather conditions. The gray will automatically become more brown over time because of day/sunlight. The color may fade when you clean unprotected surfaces with water. Use Natural Woodsealer ® for protection.
